Because chickens aren't people!
And it's a really stupid idea because a sweater actually makes them colder!
Chickens are covered in feathers which expensive winter coats and blankets are made of. And chickens fluff up their feathers in the cold because it helps them to keep warm. Putting a sweater on them stops them from being able to do that.
And don't you have something more productive to do?

If you have backyard chickens, then you will have to move or transport your chickens at some stage. Weather you're bringing new chickens home, relocating or taking a sick chicken to the vet.
